Tech Specs

Prestige Scheduler is a Windows based client server application. Since version 5, the core client and server components are written in C#.NET. It utilizes a SQL compliant database to operate and a variety of technologies to interoperate.

A note about system size:  Some elements such as database size or the amount of RAM used are dependent on system size.  When referring to the board size, that is the total number of scheduled activities on all jobs.  The size of the database is also affected by the number of jobs you add or complete each day.  The stats here are for a system with about 800 jobs with about 10 activities each for 8000 total.

Server Requirements & Software

Prestige Scheduler Task Manager

Prestige Scheduler’s server and core program is the Task Manager. The Task Manager maintains the board in Monitor Mode, which is the real-time published schedule that all users are working against.

  • It runs as a Windows service
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 or newer
  • 16 GB RAM
  • 100 GB Hard Disk space

Updater

An existing or custom component can connect The Prestige Scheduler to data collection devices and electronic counters to update the active schedule easily from the shop floor instantly.

  • It runs as a Windows service
  • It’s typically installed on the same server as the Prestige Scheduler Task Manager service and has similar requirements.

Web Pages

A set of interactive web pages is available for use to distribute schedules and enter updates from the shop floor.

  • It runs as a Windows service
  • Runs on Windows Internet Information Service (IIS)

Database Component

The database is not provided with Prestige Scheduler (though if you don’t already have one, we can help you select and install the right option for you). Your choice of:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or newer
  • Microsoft SQL Server Express 2008
  • PostGreSQL

Workstation Requirements & Software

Prestige Scheduler Client

Prestige Scheduler is installed on each workstation that needs access to Design and Monitor Modes.  A designer uses the system differently from an average user so there are two sets of guidelines.

Design Workstation

  • Windows 7 or higher
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 10 GB Hard Disk space
  • 2 to 4 monitors, 21″ or better

Client Workstation

  • Windows 7 or higher
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 10 GB Hard Disk space
  • 1 monitor, 17″ or better

Importer

Job data is entered directly in the Client Component of The Scheduler or can be imported automatically from your company’s MIS (Manufacturing Information System) containing estimates and/or production orders; anything with the process steps of the job.  MIS systems with ODBC access or the ability to export text reports are required – and highly common.

Optional

Crystal Reports or DevX is used to generate and display reports within Prestige Scheduler.
